Whatcha Doing?

I thought these apples looked like they are carrying on a conversation.

This is my first post in over a week.  I managed to produce two paintings while I was in Houston last week. However, I didn't get any pictures of them, as my daughter wanted to keep both of them to hang in her kitchen.

I really like the center apple in this one, but I'm not happy with the bowl.  I'll have to let it rest a bit to figure out what's wrong.  I think the reflected light at the bottom is too bright.   There's quite a glare on the photo also, but I just wanted to get something posted.

  1. Welcome back Virginia. That center apple has very nice form. I like the green and blue color
    combination.

  6. I hope you had a good time! It's great perspective and dimension with the apples, as well as the color. And you did a good job with the little stripy part by the stems.
What are the two paintings of that your daughter kept?

  7. This is just great. Love the colors and what you did with the background texture/color. Since you mentioned the bowl I looked at it to see what you might change. I did not notice it before you said something. I would adjust the ellipse of the bowl a bit in the back or a bit on the right side. Very minor adjustment. Otherwise, just fine.

  9. Thanks, everyone.

Carol, you're right about the ellipse. Funny how I can see things in a photo that I didn't see in the painting.

Caladh, my daughter had some tomatoes in her kitchen that I painted one day, and another day I painted a set up that included a pitcher that she has. She really liked that the painting was of one of her on possessions.
