Nestled All Snug

I thought these lemons look as if they are snuggled all down in the towel. I painted this as a companion for the painting I did about three days ago.  My friend said that she would love to have one of my paintings, so I plan to give the pair to her to hang in her kitchen.

So I've improved enough over the past six months that I've attained one goal.  I always said I'd like to paint well enough that people would like to have my paintings.    At this point, at least now I can GIVE them away!  LOL.   It makes me happy to share them.

  1. yes,it's beautiful Virgina and what size is this?,have you added some pink tones for the white cloth?,and t6hanks a lot for your comment.

  2. Virginia,
This is beautiful and your friend is a lucky one. She will love these. Great job on the colors and the folds of the fabric. Lovely!

  4. Le travail de votre drapé apporte beaucoup de douceur à vos citrons...
    Beau travail comme toujours!

  5. I love lemons, they are one of my favorite subjects. You did a fabulous
job! Going thru your past paintings leads me to think that there probably has been people wanting your paintings for a long time. You have many successful pieces!

  6. You did an excellent job on this. Lovely brushwork and color. No more giving away paintings. I have seen lots of progress in your work. Congratulations!

  7. Thank you everyone for all the encouraging comments. I love that you took time to visit and say something. Anu, it is an 8 inch X 8 inch. I forgot to add that to my description. Yes, I used a little Alizarin Crimson to add some pink and lavender in the cloth.

Carol, at this point, I'm still grateful that anyone would want one of my paintings!

  8. It's beautiful Virginia! Very nice work on the shape of the lemons. They look very round and full. :)

  9. You're so funny! Of course they are so beautiful who wouldn't want a Virginia Floyd original:) Great job on the lemons.

  10. Hi Virginia,
So glad I paid you a visit today. I had to laugh that you painted and wiped it all away. You were not alone. I wiped my scene away 6 times and re-did it. Thank goodness for oil paint.
But gotta say, maybe I should have baked a cake instead.
Love your work Virginia, you are one talented lady. Thank you for sharing.
