Citrus Spill

I liked the way these lemons and clementines spilled across the table when I was arranging my set up.  They just fell into position without my having to do much rearranging.

I enjoyed painting on a larger canvas for a change.  I have painted this pitcher before, and I can see that my painting has improved.   Below is my first version, painted in June.

 Still miles to go, though.

12" X 16" oil on canvas

  1. Lovely! I actually like the two together. The color combos are just different enough that they work together. I like them both! Great job!

  3. If I could paint like this I'd be hard at work with my brushes again. For now photography has filled that creative void for me. Thank you for your kind remarks on BADP. It and my Paris blog, have opened a whole new world for me. Now I can count you as one of my many blog friends worldwide!

  4. Hi Virginia,
It looks like you are rolling right along....those miles come one painting at a time, so no worries...we're all making the trek. Thanks so much for being such a positive presence on my blog, it helps keep the flame lit.

  6. Thanks to everyone who took the time to stop by and comment. Your encouragement means a lot!

Carrie, I'm glad you like them. Looking at them together is interesting. As you say, the colors are different, and I think the techniques are too. I used a smaller brush in the second painting, and I got fussier.

Sylviane, I hope that I can get better and better! I love your work, too. Your subject matter is always beautiful.

Virginia, just keep doing what you are doing. It is amazing!

Jean, I love to visit your blog. Your loose style is something I aspire to!

Anu, thank you for coming! I have been practicing on those lemons!

  8. Lorraine, I love to have you visit. Evolving is a good description of what I hope I am doing. Sometimes after I finish, I have lots of negative thoughts. Why do we do that to ourselves?
