Not a red apple

I struggled so much with the reds of the apples in my prior post, and then this one just seemed to glide off the brush.  Painting was fun today.

This mug came from the mother lode--Goodwill Thrift Store.  I love to poke around to find things there to paint.  And I can get a sack full for just a few dollars.  Two thrills in one--stuff to paint and a bargain!

  1. I think red can be as stubborn as yellow, maybe more so, depending on things. I haven't painted bananas for a long time though. Both paintings look nice, and I like the reflection on the outside of the mug.

  2. This IS a fun painting Virginia! We live in VA, and it is red here....red HOT right now. Beautiful artwork.

  3. San Antonio is experiencing welcome rains, and a cooler than usual July. Last year we had NO rain during the three summer months.

  4. Beautiful reds, Virginia! Really nice job on the reflections that capture that high gloss ceramic look.
