Mango In and Mango Out

I guess I'm destined to be known as The-Lady-Who-Paints-Fruit.  I can't seem to paint anything else and have it come out looking right.

I worked and worked on that bowl.  There was lovely reflected light from the mango inside the bowl, but I just couldn't capture it.  And I'm not mentioning my ellipse.  Oh, I guess I just did.

I envy those people who can paint something in an hour and then post it!

  1. Wow! Your mangoes are terrific. I especially like the one outside the bowl. Your shadows and light are very sensitive and create the form beautifully. Virginia thank you so much for your very kind comments to me as well.

  2. Belle réussite que celle de vos mangues. C'est tellement beau les couleurs de la peau, du bleu, du rouge, de l'orange... j'arrête car je m'épuiserais ! Magnifique, bisous.

  5. The colors and shapes of the mangoes are great. The reflection on the bowl is not so bad. Look at it again in a couple of days after the mangoes are gone and you can't make a direct comparison.

  6. Caladh, by the time I finish a painting, I think it's terrible. Then a few days later, I think well it wasn't THAT bad. Usually, I can find one thing that I did that I'll like about a painting. And thanks for the encouragement.

  7. That's exactly what happens in my head! There are several things you did well . . . you nailed the illusion of roundness, there's that perfect reflected light on the bottom of the out mango and the colors in the mangoes are really good.
