This is pretty sad. I think I've forgotten how to paint. I don't seem to be able to make any grays in my colors.
I left the set up overnight and painted it again this morning. The light was coming in from a big window. I have great light here. I need some more practice!
Virginia- I like both the pear paintings you have done. Nothing like a time crunch and trying to get back in the routine and I think you did great. The colors are wonderful and the pears have great shape. I think pears are hard:) You did good. Glad you have great light at the new house! And...I love Nancy Franke too!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kathy, these both have a lot of merit in both color and shape. And she hit it right on the head as far as 'crunch time'.the second I say, I must finish in______time- I start thinking about the time and not the painting! Your doing well, keep it up!
ReplyDeleteDon't be so hard on yourself, Virginia! Pears are a difficult subject, but I think you did better than you think you did. Keep up the good work!! :-)
ReplyDeleteWe all know it is hard to come back to work, after a while, and your pears are good. The left one stands up proudly, it put kb the poor right one!
ReplyDeleteBon courage, Virginia!
Very nice, I like the lighting!

We ALL feel that way sometimes, Virginia - don't fret! And to say you feel this way you did a heck of a nice painting! And just remember - for a gray just add a bit of the complement! But sometimes you just work around that - like in this painting, and can make a pleasant piece without them! Rules are meant to be broken. Go with your heart. And thanks for the nice comment on my blog...
ReplyDeleteVirginia... you haven't forgotten how to paint, trust me!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kelley Virginia it's a great painting! And all of us feel like that at times. You do great work, chin up my friend. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad you're back to PAINTING!!! You've made so much progress and and it will all come back . . .
