Gather Around

I had about an hour to paint this yesterday afternoon.  I forced myself to use that big brush again.  I like the effect on the plum and the side of the pitcher.  I realized after posting this that the ellipse on the pitcher is wrong.  Oops.  Loved getting to paint again.

  1. Wonderful painting and composition. I love the colors in the fruits and around the neutral pitcher they just really pop! So pretty and fun. The reflections in the pitcher are really good and hold your eye in there. So much so that I did not even think the ellipse was off. Really nice! Good for you on painting and keep 'em coming:)

  4. Nice rich colors. You did a great job on shiny pitcher. Have you tried that Grumbacher red much yet?

  5. Hi Virginia, very nice painting. I particularly like the tones and highlights in the plum, giving it wonderful form, as well as the apricot just in front. All together a lovely painting. I see you're posting regularly again, so your move must be complete. We have family visiting from France for one month, so I'm not painting too much, except for special event painting days around the city. Thanks for visiting, and I hope to be back blogging regularly in a few weeks time!

  8. Stephanie, yes I regularly put it out on my palette now. It is a true red.

Claire, I think we all have lots of interruptions in the summertime with friends and family. Have fun!

Mary, thanks for visiting and for the encouraging comments.

Nan, I told you it was a BIG brush!
