Pears are very forgiving. You'll never hear one say, "That doesn't look like me". Or, "You made my butt look too big." Which I probably did. Pears are just easy going and fun to paint.
Love the golden glow of this painting with the green shadows and touches of red in the pears. It has a gilded look. And I love what a pear will never say! Very funny! Thanks for visiting and your supportive comments. Happy painting!
Pears are indeed, very forgiving. All round soft edges. Like women. I think of them as having bustles, which is the antithesis of what we women want currently. Ironic? Beautiful light and color . . . light dominant value . . . hey, you're not value-dominant dyslexic!
Lorraine, I was just thinking that pears are the only fruit that we assign personality to. Apples just aren't that endearing.
I'm not dyslexic, but I am so detail oriented! I just haven't been able to loosen up yet like you. Actually, for me this was a pretty loose painting. Waaah!
Very funny, Virginia! Great painting! Your transition between the golden greens, golds and orange/red are great and your colors glow! You've made these pears look fabulous:)
That's funny Virginia. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteThis painting has a classical look. Very nice colors.

ReplyDeletePears are one of my favorite subjects. I haven't painted any in a long time. You've provided a nice, colorful reminder. :)
ReplyDeleteBeau trio Virginia pour ces poires aux couleurs jaunes virant aux ors...

ReplyDeleteYes, all that is wonderful, and I like how you controlled the viewer's 'journey' through the painting with the composition, and stems!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carrie and Kelley. I didn't even know I did all that!
