I thought I'd have another go at the green apples. I think the colors are better on this one. I started out with a cadmium-yellow-medium mixture this time so the paint wasn't transparent. I'm still not happy with the painting though. Too monochrome. So I guess I'll have to do it again.
This is on an 8 inch by 8 inch canvas panel, my favorite size. I got a new supply this week, so I'm set!
These look so fresh and crunchy Virginia.I fact I loved the colors.
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful apples, Virginia! I love the color balance, not too monochrome at all. It feels harmonious to me and the apples look alive. By all means, keep doing them, but don't let your inner critic talk too loud . . .
ReplyDeletegreat job!!!
I've been studing about monochrome and other color schemes. It's just one scheme, but I see how a compliment might perk it up the way you like them. Nice painting though. The apples look great!
ReplyDeleteI love the green... I think you did a fabulous job on the color, AND the apples !!
ReplyDeleteI think the apples look great. You could try them on a different color ground just as an experiment.
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone for your encouragement. Lorraine, you are right as usual. My inner critic was talking the whole time I was painting.
